Karen is a lovely girl with a truly down to earth and affable personality. A fairly good insight into Shanks can be found in her book entitled  "The Real Bill Shankly" published by Trinity Mirror Sport Media group. It includes personal memoirs from Karens youth and life surrounding the great man himself. Well worth a read and quite poignant at times in its narrative:
