Sammy was gone as a player within 12 months of Kenny becoming manager first time around. History repeats itself !It'll be interesting who his replacement will be. Gary Mac would be an excellent choice (another Scot), although I reckon his next move will be to a management role.
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)

Sammy's had more than his fair share of chances, if he was going to make it to the top it would have happened by now. He failed at LFC as a coach first time round, failed as a manager at Bolton then was brought back as a political appointment under Wafa. He's had a good run.
I know it's probably for the best but it's kinda sad that we have to let go of him. I'll always remember him for that cracking right foot rather than his assistant managerial skills though!
joey ate the frogs legs
made the swiss roll
now he's munching gladback
Best move of the summer for us. We all love Sammy but we're in this for the win, not for the past... good luck in the future but very happy to see Clarkey take his place
Lee was only ever a scouse voice and a comedian in the dressing room amongst a sea of foreigners and outsiders. Dalglish coming in made that role defunct as did the employment of Clarke. Sammy was a half decent squad player in his day and is now cone and kit man that barks managers instructions from the touchline. That said hes well connected in the game and has little trouble finding work.
It shows true intent and ambition from KK and the club Sammy obviously wasnt good enough, but I do wish "his ar'se is on the ground" all the best and good luck I wonder who getting his parking spec...?
paul_tomkins: RT @JimBoardman Times report Paul Clement, former #CFC's Asst 1st Team Coach, is a leading candidate for #LFC in light of Sammy Lee's exit.
paul_tomkins: RT @paul_grech: Ancelotti on Clement “He will be a fantastic coach ... Is able to explain exercises in training well & gets point across."
