robbie is a true hero

A goal is a goal and Cisse is no doubt proud of his efforts in the opening stages of the Champions League, but the first goal in a Premeirship match is vital. There can be no doubt at all that Fowler is still capable of producing at this level, the only question is whether Rafa considers him as part of his masterplan.
The only thing that fills me with dread is the scenario where we keep Morientes and release Fowler. That would in my opinion be a ridiculous decision and one based on sentiment rather than footballing ability.

Robbie is a better player but you wouldn't be able to get that much for him and Robbies salary is also a lot easier to handle than Morientes.
Was it not three dissallowed goals for him and two that was actually ok goals?

Since I missed God's first coming, I decided to do some homework on his first 100 goals here.
All I can say is wow! Outstanding, lad!
The predatory instincts he showed goal after goal are unparalleled. And, you know what, I think he's shown over the last few games that he's definitely still got them.
Some question Robbie's fitness but that doesn't concern me too much, TBH. So long as he's fit enough to get in and around the box, take up good positions and poach goals he deserves a spot in the squad. I wouldn't care if he only played 15 minutes per game so long as he continued to score goals like the ones he's put in this season or like some of the ones on that compilation.
And, FWIW, I think Rafa will definitely re-sign him. Yes, there's been lots of talk of age and fitness in the press this week but I think this is Rafa's way of telling Robbie what he'll expect from him after he signs a new contract. Rafa may have a slight concern that Robbie will sign a new deal at the end of the season, lose a little focus over the summer and report back for training out of shape. Given that there will be less preparation time for the club this summer because of the World Cup, Rafa needs the players to come back sharp. As such, I see these public comments as a way of motivating Robbie and keeping him honest once the contract is signed. That's my hope, anyway...

Magic!
