I've gone for 3rd but have also just had a tenner on us to win the title. Ever the optimist! :D

I have gone for 4th because Benetiz has done nothing yet in the transfer market and its impossible to speculate any further than that at the moment.

However, I think we'll be a lot closer to the winners next year and even though I cannot see us moving up the league next year, I do think people will be more optimistic by the end of the season as Benetiz improves us all around.

I see another "frustrating" year for Manure, only finishing third and in serious danger of slipping down past us, but I'm thinking of putting a bet on Chelsea to win it.

My logic is:

1. I think complacency will set in at Arsenal and 2004/05 will be a repeat of 2002/03 for them.
2. Despite being an arrogant chap Mourinho is the greatest coaching prodigy of the past 10 years: despite their billions Chelsea will actually play like a real team next year. Kezman and Drogba (it now looks like he's coming regardless of Crespo) will be a serious strike force. I think Chelsea have been correct in not signing Galacticos.

I also think that Spurs are in serious danger of relegation.

Santini is a bluffer who will try to change things far too quickly and I could see them struggling, despite a load of foreign imports.

3rd and a decent run in the CL is a decent start.

I suspect Arsenal will win again and Man Spew sadly to finish 2nd. Chelsea I think will underperform and Mourinho will be gone by christmas :D He's too arrogant to stick around when the pressure's on.

Expect Villa to continue their resurgence but Newcastle may well be looking for a manager if Bobby gets them off to their usual poor start .

Hi, Thrid is good enough , it's show that the team played better than last season. But the most important thing now , is what happen the season after this season . Are we will be going 2nd or 1st , or will be 4th and below . If the next season , we will be 2nd or 1st , then I will agree that we finally found a better manager .

I am surprise to see a few that predicted 1st. Thought I will be the only one.

1st in EPL, and  the odds do seem good enough.

All players dying to prove to Beni. This makes all players play wholeheartedly. LFC looks better with commited players.

Be the 1st team to beat Arsenal. Anyone? :p

I'm going for 2nd - no more than 5-6 points behind Arsenal.
Win the FA Cup and Champions League!

We finished 30 points off the winners last season.......how can people be so optimistic?

Houllier may be gone, but as good as Benetiz' record is, no one can say with certainty that he can duplicate his success in England.

I think we will see an improvement next season, but I'm sticking to a 4th place prediction so any improvement on that will be a bonus.

Predicting or hoping for 1st could lead to a lot of angry posts here next October and November!

I dont think we will fininsh below 4th, I think with a bit of luck we may be in wiv a shot at 1st.
He comes from Spain and he doesn't speak good English,
But we don't care cos he'll turn us into winners,
The European Cup will be ours before he's finished,
Raaaaafaa Benitez!
