Apparently Stevie G could be out for upto to 12 weeks now as it has been confirmed that it was the 5th metatarsel broken which is the worst to break and has the longest recovery period. Its exactly the same as Rooneys.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

There's enough quality in this side to be able to cope until he's back, who are our next opponents?  Norwich?  We probably could've rested Stevie anyway.  Alonso can fill stevie's role with Hamann getting the defencive duties, Kewell or Warnock on the left will perform well I'm sure, Finnan's doing a decent job on the right and Garcia and Cisse/Baros will hammer in the goals and Stevie will be back to find us in the top 3.

Well, if it is any consolation, this injury to Stevie will force Alonso to take up a more povital role and hopefully it will do wonders for his settling down and also his confidence in being the central midfield hub so that he can quickly settle to reproduce his form in Spain for us.
