Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If the two teams from Liverpool win today we will be 4 points away from a CL place with a lot of games to play. We have a relatively easy christmas fixture list so we could be there by the end of the year. Onwards and upwards!

Massive improvement from alot of our players. Most Noteable Stevie, Downing and Henderson.

Gerrard has been involved in nearly all of our goals in the last few games. Downing has decided that he wants to put the effort in and is becoming a much better player and Henderson, Who is continously stuck by, Is proving that given the games his form will get alot better and only 21/22.

Gerrard will have spells of excellence and unproductiveness. He will excite and exasperate, be sublime and sh'it. But he will always try his best and give his all for the shirt.
Downing seems to have got the message through his thick middlesborough head at last, and Henderson is finally sprouting a pair of shiny new testicles
Lets hope this continues...

From struggling to have options going forward earlier in the season until now we have too many options if thats possible.

From Downing improving his form to the emergence of Sterling and Suso and the advancement in position with Enrique we seem to be adding more depth to our attacking options.

At the moment we have

Suarez
Sturridge
Sterling
Downing
Borini
Assaidi
Suso
adding Enrique to the list that makes it 8 possible options.

We also have Carroll and Morgan on loan although i doubt we will see Carroll playing for Liverpool again.

Sturridge and Borini will favour Central roles. With the rest playing in the wider areas in a 4-3-3 it might get a bit difficult keeping everybody happy.

Saying that healthy competition is great. Just cant see Sturridge and Borini in the Same side

However a forward line of Sturridge-Borini-Suarez would give me confidence in the bigger matches.

Adding to that we also have very healthy competition in central areas

Gerrard
Lucas
Allen
Henderson
Shelvey. All of which i think can rotate around the the triangle apart from maybe Shelvey.

The depth of the squad seems to be getting better and it could help us going into the second half of the season especially as we are still in the Fa and Europa Cup.

Performance wise The lads have really stepped up since the Villa Defeat and I would have liked 6 points from Man utd, Norwich,Arsenal and City. Which looking at it now might be tough but a performance of the calibre of the second half V UTD and im Sure we would pick up the 3 points against both Norwich and Arsenal

I targetted 6 points from the 4 games above and we currently have four. A win against City would be fantastic but the quality they have I would be hapy with the point.

We are still in the shout for fourth despite spurs being 7 points above us and Everton 6.

looking at the Big games the 4 teams challenging for fourth, Liverpool Arsenal, Everton and spurs, Theres nothing stopping us from getting top 4 or coming very close

Liverpool Key games

Man city (A) 3/2/13
Tottenham (H) 10/3/13
Chelsea (H) 20/4/13
Everton (H) 4/4/13

Arsenal Key games

Tottenham (A) 3/3/13
Everton (H) 9/3/13
Man utd (H) 27/4/13

Everton Key games

Arsenal (a) 9/3/13
Man city (H) 16/3/13

Chelsea (A) 19/5/13

Tottenham Key games
