Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Fri Feb 01, 2008 1:05 pm

Right first off most of us havent got 5 grand lying around to buy a share.
There is a similar topic on RAWK I thought we could do the same here even though RAWK is a lot bigger than this forum I thought Id just put the feelers out on what everyones opinion would be on getting our own share in LFC.

We need 100 people to put 50 pound each in, or 200 to put 25 pound each in.

The Liverpool share website have rightly pointed out that many ordinary working class fans might be disenfranchised during this opportunity and they rightly haven't ruled out groups of fans buying one share together, as long as they can elect a vote caster and decide on a way of deciding on how that vote is cast.

A 100 strong group, who elects the votecaster randomly, all having a 1% vote to decide how our vote is cast during election times, a clear, not absolute majority would then decide how the vote is cast. In the event of a tie, a randomly selected group member would have the casting vote.

Pretty simple.

All you need is a paypal account so there's a clear audit trail for the money, goodwill and the willingness to pay out £50.00,plus paypal fee's.

If you are defiantly willing to do this, PM me and I'll add your name to this post.

Remember, doing nothing is much much worse than not being able to do something 100% on your own.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

So for 50 quid you can own some of the club.

Is this really what it has come to?

Sorry I forgot to add one of the MODS will have to set up the paypal account if things get underway and there is a possibilty of G & H selling the club back to us.

It will be NEWKITS share but if we can contribute to getting our club back from the evil clutches of G & H I am all for it.

Ciggy, it's a great idea, and I'm gonna put some cash in somehow, somewhere. And I might get slaughtered for saying this, but I'm gonna say it anyway…

I'm worried, reading thru RAWK, that so many fans are gonna put £50 in that we'll end up with thousands of supporters stumping up the sum total of about £15,000. As someone on RAWK pointed out, and I'll say it here, good on you for getting involved, it's the way forward. But would you not blow £50 on a night out this weekend? It might be worth holding fire for a bit, or at least giving yourselves the option of increasing your contribution over the  next few weeks.

I'm not suggesting everyone on here should go out and tack another £5k on their mortgage, but take a deep breath, sit back for a bit, work out how you can maybe save on cancelling your e-Season ticket, your LFC credit cards, etc etc and maybe stump up a bit more.

There'll be thousands, tens of thousands right now who want to get involved, but we need to stretch ourselves as far as we can on this.

yes i agree with ade, although we cant all afford £5k we still need to sell 100,000 shares at that figure .If everyone starts to think that £50 will do we will get nowhere near that amount so lets just wait and see if this takes off and how many fans really want to be part of what i think would be a great idea

Just suppose 500 million is raised after months of effort but G+H want 550 million?

I'm still sceptical about this having any effect whatsoever on G&H, but I'm definitely up for putting up £50.
