Valencia are unable to agree on a new contract with striker Mista.
The Spanish marksman has reportedly been offered a new five-year deal with the club, worth around €1.2 million each year.
However, Mista and his representatives have not yet given a positive response to the offer and the club now feel that he will be leaving when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Mista banged in 19 goals in the Spanish league last term, and the 26-year-old has been a target of former Valencia boss Rafa Benitez, now in charge at Liverpool.
With Michael Owen leaving for Real Madrid, Benitez had targeted Mista as a replacement, and a deal could even come in the winter transfer market with the Spanish champions aware he could leave for free next summer.
The Che are believed to have already begun the search for a replacement with Claudio Ranieri telling the club's board exactly what he wants.

if current rumour to be true we will have a first team full of spainsh players
