Liverpool v crewe - A chance to fine tune the strikers!

A chance to fine tune the strikers!

Hopefully Keane will release the pressure he is under by scoring in this one.

Also a chance to try someone on the right of midfield for some different options.

Hopefully Rafa puts out a decent enough set of 1st teamers because we need to get used to scoring a few goals.

I'd play something like...

-----------Cavalieri----------

Degen---Hyypia---Agger---Insua

El Zhar---Lucas---Plessis---Babel

--------Ngog--Keane---------

Give some of the kids a chance, but also have some experienced, 2nd choice players play too. Certainly, Keane should get a chance to break his duck. I'd like to see Pacheco feature, and maybe Stephen Darby too.

id go for a stronger team.. sort of

                             Cavalieri

Degen           Hyypia            Agger          Dossena

Pennant         Lucas          Mascherano       Babel

                           Benayoun
                                   Keane

Pennant needs a chance sooner rather than later.. im sure he can be better than anything we have down that right side..

I would go for a mixture of youth and experience

                            Cavalieri

Degen           Hyypia            Agger          Insua (unless he has gone on loan?)

El Zahr         Lucas          Plessis      Babel

                  Ngog      Keane

Maybe bring Nemeth on for Babel or Keane at half time.

Should win comfortably

I would go with that

like almighty red said I would give keane a game, to let him score to gain confidence.

I think we will win 2-0

The competition is an irrellevance and as such first teamers should only play if there is to be some discernable benefit. Keane in this instance needs a goal and ought to play IMHO (I think we can take it as a given that Torres will eventually find his rhythm). If any other players are on their way back from injury (Aurelio perhaps) then they should be considered, but other than that it should be for fringe players and kids. So the likes of Agger, Babel, Lucas, Pennant, Benayoun, Plessis etc should be infused with a bunch of kids.

Cavielri

Degen         Agger       Hyppia       Dossesna

Babel          Alonso      Plessis        Riera

                 Keane       Torres

No resting either striker , they need to score here to get back their confidence in the case of keane and a good chance for torres to shake of his rust . 4-0

We should play our first team (if any knows what that is right now).
after the Stoke game they need this, If our best players feel they should not be playing games like this then they should have showed they can beat teams like this by beating Stoke at the weekend, its clear they need the games.
I beat if you left SG and made Keane Capt he would get a hat full of goals, a part of me thinks that is his problem, he is not No1 and he is finding that hard to deal with.

You may get abused for saying that , nut i do agree as when he was the captain at spurs , when king was injured , he was a different keane and i think we should try that .

I always said he was going to find it hard to take the step down from No2 or No1.
right now he has do F all to be made Capt but for this game it might be the way to go, but only if Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard are let in on it.

Spot on,

I don't think Torres needs fine tuning as Bermenstein asks in the topic subtitle, he's a player that might have bad streaks as anyone else but never lacks confidence in himself.

In the case of Keane though, I think the lad just needs games and a couple of goals to see the best of him, I like him.

Despite the "irrelevance" of the competition, for me it's very relevant some players like Lucas or Plessis tell "here I am" to Rafa.
