Since we last won the league, who have been our best signings?

If I left anyone out, enclose them by replying to this post.

For all of Houllier's mistakes (and he has made many!) I think he has made the best signings since Dalglish left (not that that says much!).

Ian Rush?

Redknapp was a cracking player.  Shame about all the injuries.  If he'd have stayed fit, the team should have been build around him.  Him and Stevie G would have been great in the middle of the park together.

for the price we paid i would have to say big sami hyypia, a virtual unknown before we signed him. mcallister for that treble season was also a masterstroke. litmanen could have been as good as bergkamp if he was allowed a run in the side.

Redknapp was a overated wimp.

Litmanen would never have got near Bergkamps class.

Sami, as someone said. Unknown, £3m... Juventus showing £15m interest, one of the best centre halfs in the world a few years ago and still one of the top 5 in england today. Absoloute class.

OOOOHHHHH SAMI SAMI, SAMI SAMI SAMI, SAMI HYYPIA!!!! :D

I would also say Sammi, but McAllister was a brilliant signing as well.

Henchoz also narrowly misses out.....I tried to spread things out among the different managers.

Rob Jones was also a good signing.

Ian Rush!!!!

Man, how could people not know that Liverpool legend Rush was re-signed from Juventus in the summer of 1988?

Best football quote of all time from Ian Rush when he arrived back on Merseyside in 1988:

"I din't like living in Italy. It felt like another country altogether."

I have to say Rob Jones was the best signing ever I see, don't laugh, lads.
Remember a lot of people never heard of him....Rob who??? Souness bought him from Crewe for 350,000 quids it was bargain and 5 months later he got in the England squad and make a debut for England against France, that was Alan Shearer first goal for England. But sadly it was stupid mistake to let him go to West Ham Utd, it is shame that he retired after long term injuries with shin problem, but he was one of best right back in this country and he was much better than Gary Neville and Lee Dixon.

Gary McAllister is one of arguably best signing in the PL, he was so superb in the first season with Liverpool, never forget that.

Babbel was great signing for us, he played over 60 games on his first season, sadly illness ruined him, I am glad he is doing well for Blackburn.

:p sami hypia, the only decent thing houllier has done has been to build a solid defence ,it's a shame roy evans didn't have hypia and henchoz in his defence as i'm sure we would have won the league. He liked the attacking style of football most liverpool fans crave for unfortunately his defence wasn't up to scratch
