FERNANDO MORIENTES will join Liverpool in a £6.5million deal over the next 48 hours.

Real Madrid finally agreed to the move after telling the Spanish striker he could not be guaranteed a place in the side.

Anfield boss Rafa Benitez has been desperate to land Morientes, 28, ever since Michael Owen left for the Bernabeu in August.

Madrid have always insisted they do not want him to leave. And Liverpool’s bid looked doomed this week when new Madrid boss Vanderlei Luxemburgo claimed it would be like ‘dealing with the enemy

I think Morientes is heading our way, judging by the amount of 'noise' emitting from Anfield. I think it is the loose ends they are trying to finalise... (no source, JMHO)

nope....can't see this news anywhere.

At the moment it is 50:50 who we gonna buy (morientas or anelka)......

i personally think 6.5 million is too much for morientas (given his age & he being-cuptied & all).

If we can land anelka for 8 million, i prefer to take anelka...

Buying Morientes will give us a better chance of qualifying for next years Champions league.

Tumblesh!t aka Roberts, I suggest you read that book otherwise statements that you've made such as "Liverpool have no quality" will only continue to prove that you know very little about football. I will just throw two names at you and you decide whether these two players quality; Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso. There are more quality players maybe not WORLD CLASS but quality players they are.]
