All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

hahaha... yea well.. i get what ur saying doc but you know what i meant by that..
0-0 against Stoke in the league with Kuyt down the right flank .. id want him subbed for Benny... He never looks like he's got a goal in him and he does fck all with the ball when at his feet to create chances for others... most of his goals are either rebounds from goalies or deflected shots or just blasted balls towards the goal... Why did we get rid of Cisse again ?!
Point being, we need to address our main problem which is breaking down the smaller sides... For that we need creativity and a little more flair in our attacking play, both of which are seemingly nonexistent in Kuyts wide spectrum of abilities... He works hard and knows how to position himself when the ball is coming across... ill give him that much....  credit to him for playing out of his skin and having a good season, but that to me doesnt change the fact that he is, and will always be...cack

What does it matter if a goal rolls in off a player's a*se after a complete f*ck-up by the 'keeper, or from 90 yards at 200mph?

Do you get more points or something?

Without Dirk, we would have scored at least 26 less goals this season. THAT'S what's important.

11 assists - and you reckon he doesn't create chances for others?  :D

I hate howmuch stick Kuyt gets on here. He can't do anything right for many people. He has had a greatseson for a striker playing wide right, he has done a stalwart job, contributed with his effort, tracking back in defence, positional play, asssts and goals, what else could you want..? Everybody wants a conventional winger, someone who can beat a man and looks flashy knocking ball in the box for fun and has bags of style and flare but where are you going to find one of those? and could we afford it anyway? For the job he is given he does a brilliant job and we would be a worse ide without him.

I'm not trying to suck the fellas plums, he annoys me with his :censored: touch every now and then but people need to be realistic.

So...sell Kuyt... explain what money you think we would get for him (If you think he is :censored: we are bound to getno money for him) and then buy a player with the money, I'll even give you an extra 3-5million from Rafas back pocket. Is your buy going to be better for us next season than Kuyt was for us last season?

What I dislike about Kuyt is what I see with my own eyes.

He runs and works his :censored: of every game and picks up rebounds and such to get goals.

But... Is it just me who sees how poor of a "FOOTBALLER" he is?

He is slow, he can not head a ball with any power, he can't dribble past 1 defender ever. He passes the ball back or sideways 95% of the time and is pretty usesless when he has possession.
The whole attack stops up. He has 0 creativity, well almost, his crossing is unreliable, he can never place a shot, ever, always hit and miss.
I could go on, but I must be watching a different game and a different Kuyt.

The only reason he must be so loved is because when a supporter sees him on the field, it gives hope to anyone that they could be playing for Liverpool, no matter the footballing skills.

yes exactly  :bowdown

hence the (arguably) tongue in cheek title to this thread

i think a lot of people are turned off by his "industrial" rather than "cultured" football , therefore an underperformer like riera desn't get half the level of abuse because he looks the part

Yeh I know it's tounge in cheek by many but not by others. Anyway, every player gets abuse and every player needs some backing just playing my part in the footballing circus merry go round that is newkit. :D

I really would like to see some peoples ideal swap explaining monetery values and see if it genuinely would be better for us. I am open to ideas becasue i like everybody wantto strengthen our squad...

are you sure about those claims?

because with my own eyes i have seen dirk dribble the ball, beat a opposition player, head a goal (and head an assist), "place a shot" and pass the ball forward on many occasions.

I also am a bit doubtful that 95% of his passes go side or backwards

I think what you meant to say was "I went on UTube, spent 3 hours and still couldn't find any examples of Kuyt brass let alone gold, so I gave up and posted some totaly irrelevant if bloody funny clips."  :wwww

Kuyt has very little talent as a footballer but he was bloody brilliant for us the 2nd half of the season, it doesn't make any sense but he is valuable to us.
