I have said if we don't make progress this season it may be time to re-assess , certainly I would hope questions would be asked. That was my answer btw.

Seriously what would it take Sabre and Leon?

You must no better than anyone saint it takes time
AS i said before it took Shanks 6 years to get our great team together.
What do you think our history would have been if we all started to question him after 3 years . i know im going back to ancient history but i honestly believe the man . will come good for us. he is the best man for the job.

Someone was moaning at the game yesterday there was no camaraderi with the players they seem to be in clicks well i know what id do id make them all leave there flash cars at anfield and pile them all on the coach again to and from melwood . Thats what Shanks done he said it built up the team spirit between the players as they travelled through the streets singing

Im waffling now so ill shut up

It wasn't a get at Rafa post Nanny , I honestly wondered just how bad it would have to get before Sabre and Leon said enough is enough. Most posters have a cut off point I just wondered what theirs was.

I stand by my cut off point, if we dont make progress this season questions should be asked, and if we don't get the right answers.... BYE BYE Rafa.

I started watching Liverpool in 1968 Nanny - It was 1973 before I saw us lift any cup! So I do have patience and belief.

:D Same year as me god it makes me feel :censored: ancient on here

But you did not have the weight of expectation and a glorious past to contend with, and neither did Shankly.

By '68 we did mate, we had just won the league twice and the FA cup so the weight of expectancy was very high. I know that I expected us to challenge if not win the league EVERY season. Luckily I was right.... eventually :D

I know we had won a few trophies, but it doesn't compare to being the most successful club, don't you think we were (football fans not me, i wasn't born!) were a lot more patient then than now? Wasn't the monetary difference between the clubs a lot less, so you always thought that you were in with a shout of winning things? Didn't managers get a lot more time, or am i thinking of the past in too fond a way? Please enlighten Yoda :D

I was doing some work (for a change).

Are you a hooligan or something then Leon, why is everyone so scared of you.

I still stand by my earlier opinion of wanting Rafa out but I'm actually not to upset with him after yesterdays game. I'll wait till the end of the season, it's to late to do anything this season anyway, plus we won't even get anywhere in the champions league this year  :sniffle

So you want him out, yet when we get a decent result you want him in? What will you say or think if we do manage to bi-pass the group stage of the CL? And we're still as you were in the league with just 6 points behind them and almost in November. Hardly too late to do anything about that now is there? You're opinions seem to change like the wind, and are just as transparent.

Hang on feck right off, last week everyone was moaning at me for being negative so I try and put a positive spin on things and get slammed, I'm starting to think you guys are just looking to attack me at every opportunity instead of being realistic and criticising the team. If you read my post you will note that I said I still want rafa out but that I don't actually think he did too bad yesterday, hardly a complete about face in terms of opinion is it!!

Oh another thing would it kill you sabre to once, just once criticise a spaniard, Albelola was completing at fault for not tracking back, come on admit it. In his defence he should never have been playing there in the first place but I guess that was another countryman's fault, tell me are all you Spaniards this bloody stubborn?? :D

Even after the Derby win, at which point we still had Paco I think, we were a lot better than we are now and playing like a team BUT I still said that we had a long way to go, that way is now even longer  :sniffle

Some of you guys are more simple than a bucket without a handle.

The old I defend anything Spaniard shíte. Which of course has an exception on Torres because I'm a Sociedad supporter. And clearly not giving enough credit to Arbeloa as a left back is something suspicious aswell.

Seriously, give me a rest.  :sleep

For the record: No, I don't think it was a spot on decission, why? because it didn't pay off, I just was trying to explain what was the idea.

Never heard that one before....

Is that a Spanish saying or something Sabre ? :D

IMO it would be more simple to have a bucket with a handle.  :D

Yes, simple and a more advanced technology to add a handle to a bucket.

So a bucket without a handle is more rudimentary than that, hence the point of the saying.

And yes, it's a local saying. :D.

I simply don't know why the nationality should have more weight in my opinions than in any of the mates of the forum. It gets boring, sometimes I wish there were not Spaniards at all in the team so I can discuss without that silly prejudice.

The point is we were the most successful club(with the mancs), we had 7 league titles, more than any other team (same as the mancs)

We had just won two titles been in a european final (lost) a European cup semi, and won the FA CUP all in a period of less than 4 years.

I don't know mate, our previous manager to Shankly lasted 3 years, the one before that 5 years, so it wasn't always a long lasting love affair even then.(bit before my time to be honest  :D )

Everyone just accepted that Shankly was a genius, I can't remember anyone ever questioning that. I am pretty sure he would have been under a lot more pressure today though.

The big money clubs then were the mancs, everton, spurs and sunderland as far as I can remember, we were never really a big money club.

We became the most successful football club after a massive clear out 24 players went in one season, Shanks inherited dead wood but then started to create his team. A monster was born  :D
Expectations werent high in the beginning of his reign  but as the premiership has eluded Rafa so far, in them days it was the European cup for Shanks, until much later with Paisley .Dont  forget great sides were inherited by Paisley,Fagin and Dalglish but look what Rafa inherited from Houllier .

As Saint said once you start winning trophys your looking to win every thing every season,

Thats the problem weve been spoilt

What to drill a couple of holes in the side and clip on a handle is advanced technology ? Well you are Spanish so .... :D

The technology would surely come from making the mould of the bucket, dont ye think ?

Shankly loved Liverpool and it was his love for the club and city that made him successful. If you didnt play for the club then you were out on your ear. Its no surprise to see the legends of old speak so passionately about the club, shankly drummed it into them everyday of there playing careers.
