OH DEAR WERE BACK ON THE SUBJECT OF OUR GEM HESKEY ...
WELL I RECKON HE DOES OK SOME OF THE TIME (not good enough for liverpool)
HE IS SCARED TO GO IN FOR TACKLES AND GIVES THE BALL AWAY ALL TOO OFTEN,
HE ALSO HAS A REALLY BAD SCORING RECORD,
HE IS TOO CLUMSY,
HE IS POSSIBLY ONE OF THE MOST UN-SKILLED STRIKERS TO EVER PLAY FOR ENGLAND AND GET AWAY WITH IT .
SO IN MY EYES HE MUST BE KNOBBING SOMEONE!!!!!
When you get the ball, I want you to beat a couple of men and smash the ball into the net, just the same way you used to at Bury," said Shankly. Lindsay replied: "But Boss that wasn't me, it was Bobby Kerr." Shankly turned to Bob Paisley and said: "Christ Bob, we've signed the wrong player."

Heskey has the ability to score brilliant goals, even occaisionally just ordinary goals but the difference between top quality strikers and 1st division strikers is the ability to do it against the best defences and to do it consistently. You look at some of the average strikers that come up with promoted sides and they will have a Heskey-esque record. Heskey belongs at a struggling Premiership club or a 1st division outfit

Heskey missed the last minute chance to equalize the score in Man Utd match clearly tell us that he is not a world class striker....

any Top Class Striker would easily score  at that kind of situation.....

I have also heard this nonsense about Heskey being a confidence player who needs an arm around his shoulder to get him playing well.

Look, he's a grown man of 25 or 26 years of age, on more money a week than most people earn in a year, and is an England international.

Its about time he grew up and be a man and take some responsibility. If he can't he should simply ply his trade in the 1st division.

I'm sick of excuses for underperforming so called superstars. If I was good enough I would play for Liverpool for free.......

I think its significant that Jon Ostembor was probably Liverpool's best player on Wednesday night.

He makes little impact on any game and scores too infrequently to have on the pitch as a luxury. He occaisionally scores the "winner" but I think another player in his place would have probably wrapped up his hat-trick and helped Liverpool to an easier three points

I agree with Dom1 that Heskey is rubbish and I also think that he should go, but with the present transfer market outlook and coupled to the fact that Heskey cannot outscore a half-decent midfield player, which club would buy him and what kind of price can he fetch? A big financial loss to Liverpool, that is certain...

He'd struggle to be worth half that £11m fee. The only clubs that would see him as an asset are mid-table teams who have few quality strikers and 1st division teams who probably couldn't afford his fee and wages. Maybe we could con spurs, Leicester, Fulham or Portsmouth to have him. Even better, he's O'Neill's cr@p maybe Celtic would have him off our hands

I think we might me able to shift him to Middlesbrough or what about Celtic or Rangers even if he fetched 1-2 Mil I would take it.
