The whole family are trying to align themselves with anything western so as to get in dubya's good books and get some trade going.

But I'll eat my jelaba if we consider his bid even for a millisecond

Intresting though that when it was muted on here around a year back, everyone said no no and no, and now people are willing to entertain the idea since seeing the success Abramovich has had with Chelski.

The Libyan leader is trying to buy the famous English club.
Al Saadi Gheddafi wants to be the new Abramovic and buy a prestigious European club to lead to glory. He set his sights on the Anfield Road club, which he had already tried to buy back in 2002, but at the time his 200 million Euro bid was rejected.

Things have now changed and the board of directors might accept the new offer as Gheddafi also plans on building a new 120 million Euro stadium for the Reds. This was stated by the Libyan political leader turned footballer in a Financial Times interview.

Gheddafi already owns a local club (Al Ittihad), has shares in Juventus and currently plays for Serie B side Perugia.

Seriously, is somebody getting paid to make this up?

What next? Bill Gates & Pol Pot's son join forces in a bid to save Liverpool FC from extinction?

we haven't dealt with dodgy characters in the past, so can't see Moores and Parry having a sudden change of heart. Load of bollox.

It would be ironic tho  IF Gadaffi bought spurs , was at the first game and all he could here  being chanted by the opposing fans was ....."YIDOS, YIDOS" :D :D
