Fitness - Chelsea game

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Okay - we've all been on a high (some legal :D ) for the last week but I was surprised that Chelsea seemed fitter in extra time.

Chelsea have played way more games, don't rotate much, and had a tough game a few days before. We should have been much fitter than Chelsea.

Any ideas? we should never be less fit than opposition.

I think natural athleticism come into play, more of their players are natural athletes, especially their African players who seem to go on and on and on and on, a bit like Sissoko for us.

However, I don't think there is a massive difference in fitness overall.

I don't know how much fitness and strength play a part in the Liverpool training, i say this because crouch has not increased, visibly anyway, his muscle mass. I would have had him pushing weights, piled on the creatine and protein, he would look like Jan Koller by now.
