Fa cup third round draw thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know it's three days away but it takes place this Sunday after the Kettering-Leeds game. Hopefully it will be on between our game finishing and the start of the Arsenal-Chelsea game.

It is already guaranteed that at least three non-League clubs will be in the hat for the Third Round, with the ties between Oxford United and Barrow, Cambridge United and York City and Bath City against Forest Green Rovers all giving those clubs dreams of a big game in the next round.

Otherwise, the likes of Staines Town, Northwich Victoria, Burton Albion, Wrexham, Rushden & Diamonds, Luton Town and Kettering Town will all still hope to be involved in the draw too, as they prepare to face Football League opposition in their Second Round Proper ties.

Taking place around 3.55pm on Sunday afternoon, shortly after the televised game between Kettering Town and Leeds United on ITV1, the Third Round Proper draw is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the English football calendar.

The draw numbers are as follows:-

Arsenal
Aston Villa
Barnsley
Birmingham City
Blackburn Rovers
Blackpool
Bolton Wanderers
Bristol City
Burnley
Cardiff City
Chelsea
Coventry City
Crystal Palace
Derby County
Doncaster Rovers
Everton
Fulham
Hull City
Ipswich Town
Leicester City
Liverpool
Manchester City
Manchester United
Middlesbrough
Newcastle United
Nottingham Forest
Peterborough United
Plymouth Argyle
Portsmouth
Preston North End
Queens Park Rangers
Reading
Scunthorpe United
Sheffield United
Sheffield Wednesday
Stoke City
Sunderland
Swansea City
Tottenham Hotspur
Watford
West Bromwich Albion
West Ham United
Wigan Athletic
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Northwich Victoria or Lincoln City
Northampton Town or Southampton
Hereford United or Colchester United
Tranmere Rovers or Aldershot Town
Kettering Town or Leeds United
Gillingham or Burton Albion
Wrexham or Swindon Town
Brighton & Hove Albion or Rushden & Diamonds
Rotherham United or Luton Town
Milton Keynes Dons or Exeter City
Brentford or Walsall
Carlisle United or Norwich City
Accrington Stanley or Barnet
Oxford United or Barrow
AFC Bournemouth or Notts County
Stockport County or Torquay United
Cambridge United or York City
Bath City or Forest Green Rovers
Port Vale or Huddersfield Town
Staines Town or Millwall

At this stage the FA Cup probably represents our best chance of winning a trophy this season. I suppose all you really ask for is a home draw.

Will we draw Blackpool? :D

the one and only thing that could possibly dispel the doom and gloom surrounding this season so far is drawing blackpool in the fa cup.

if the FA wanted to double or triple its viewership in America, when the Cup reached 64 teams, they would draw out the  cup to its conclusion.  American sports fans love nothing more than a bracket to fill out.

Image

Online bookies would probably get a lot of american coin too.

if you happen to read the post, it starts with an if. Never do I claim to say that it is or should be a priority of the FA.
