cant compete with chelsea or the mancs so how do we expect to win anything and the money GH has spent has been wasted players like diouf bought as striker playing as winger heskey as well another 10 milllion waste of money .

Diuof is not worth 10 mil. Even Kewell is only 7 mil. Definately he is a waste.

correct me if I am wrong. I read somewhere Kewell was 7.5 mil  or 8.6 mil . 10 mil for Diouf was still expensive

Diouf is value for money. Most Liverpool players r value for money. It just wrong tactics and playing players out of their natural positions.

me too the likes of La Tallec and Pongolle were apparently £6million but they were not a waste of money, £11m for Heskey was but £10m for Diouf he didnt look anything like that last season after having such a brilliant World Cup i think people expected too much too soon but now he is beginning to gian more confidence and show what he can do he has pace and skills. i think if tactics are changed with players are playing their natural positions we wouldnt have a problem.

The jury is still out on Diouf as far as I am concerned. Last season fe faded after an encouraging start but seemed to find his place on the right side as the season progressed. He has started well this season but will need to play well all season to avoid being labelled a 10 milion misfit. Kewell represents good value for the money we spent on him.Regretably millions have been spent not so wisely since Gerard took over; would anyone class the money outlayed on Heskey , Diomede , Barmby , Ziege and Cheyrou as money well spent ?

Supersub, I know you are a hardcore fan, but surely 10 million for a striker who can't finish off chances, even so clear cut ones, means that for the money, he is a bit of a luxury. Diouf's finishing ability is appalling for a striker. Perhaps he is better as a provider. Liverpool bought him at the wrong time as he had a good world cup campaign which increased his market value by at least 3 to 4 million pounds.
Look at Anelka's finishing ability, more so considering that he is playing for a tema like Manchester City.
Heskey? He is a total waste of money with a paltry strike rate, sometimes low work rate and poor first touch...Most of the contributors agree (even Supersub, a very optimistic fan - I wish I can be as optimistic as you) on Heskey. I should not say more...
Still, I am in a good mood because Liverpool won the Leeds game.

Diouf really just needs goals to boost his performances - and his value to the reds. He's done well this term and if he can bang in 15 goals a season his transfer fee would become money well spent. It's up to him.
With regard to next week! Fulham really are a good team to play right now and one we need to beat in style. No change to defensive tactics GH - go out and batter them.
And don't worry about that stupid game in mid week, send the players wives and girlfriends out for that one. They will beat Blackburn easily and keep our lads fresh for the important games ahead.
