Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

they where just talking about Cisse on sky sports , they are saying that a injury like this has ended many footballers career , its not that it dont mend its the fact that they might always get pain when running , they were talking about a player in 1995 that had the same injury  and when he come back he could never play more than 45mins , in the end they let him go

No question about it, Cisse may never play top flight football again. Breaks as bad as that can be career enders. I desperately hope that isn't the case but its certainly a distinct possibility.

Its not looking very good what so ever, after 2 months the lad will know if he will ever be able to play football again  .
On impact his bone shattered in 3 places therefore the doctors wont know for 2 months. I think he will go back to france to recouperate and we wont see him for best part of 6 months.
I hope he makes a complete recovery and plays better when he is back if he ever comes back that is.
Get well soon djibril mate.

A lot depends on how the bones broke.

If there was a "clean" break straight across the bone he should have a good chance of recovery (provided no infection or muscle problems) but if the bones shattered then he could be in trouble.

He was destined to get smashed up with a name like that.

Seriously though, the problem for Buust was that the bone actually severed arteries and muscle, I remember they took ten minutes to clean up the pitch by the goal.

At least with Cisse there was no severing of muscle groups or breaking of the skin.

I think sports medicine has come a long way since 1995. The break seemed to be in the middle rather than in the joint. Obviously if the bone had shattered is not good, but I still think he is young enough to recover. He will defenitely will now not be sold, let's hope he comes back next year with a point to prove.

Exactly Leon. If Larson and Warnock can recover from such an injury then Cisse can do the same. I feel sorry for the lad, best of wishes to him.

I wouldn't be surprised if LFC collect on the insurance money with this one.
I hope they don't have too, but all this talk of pices of bone, being broken off and plates inserted sounds serious to me.

I would think so, but the problem is that it will take about 2 years before we can claim.
