I'll stand by that. I think that i'll watch the 45 minute highlights on Liverpoolfc.tv and make sure. He was involved in almost everything and his movement as second striker was fantastic. When we were struggling to keep hold of the ball, he was making forward passes and putting us in positions to worry Chelsea, fizzling their momentum despite our lack of possession percentage.
Usually I agree with Stu in his analysis of Gerrard as second striker or attacking midfielder playing between the lines; he is not creative enough. But in this game he made unexpected passes, reverse balls and each time wrong footed defenders putting players through.
