Carragher quits england - To make lfc the best in the land

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he plans to quit England after the Euro Championships. Quitting before would really surprise me, although in fairness it must be galling travelling to all these tournaments and warming the bench constantly.

I'm sceptical like with all the rumours, but well, Carraguer is a man that speaks clearly and he'll tell whether this is true soon enough.

Whatever it's his decission, I'll find it OK.

IMHO this kind of decissions have been taken by several good players like Zinedine Zidane, or Hierro in it's day. In one case (Zidane) it was taken at a point in which he was quite tired of football as a whole and was near retirement. In the other case aswell, it was near retirement. I think Carraguer is not under this circunstances, so it's not a case of having to dossify his strenght in order to perform well.

I always felt that both Carraguer and Gerrard were misused in the English squad, and other men were given more priority, whether that's the reason to quit I don't know, but whatever Carraguer decides it's ok, and it can be only good for the club, the only bad side I see is that Carra will receive some stick from London, but I don't think he cares.

I think he made the right decision. McLaren was unfair to him. Top decision CArra

some say its an honor to play for your country, but he is wasting his career by travelling worldwide to endup sitting on the bench expecting to get 10 - 20mins gametime..he is clearly a first team player.

great news for liverpool, england dont deserve him

for me carra is the best defender in the country if not the world and that aint a biased opinion its just the way i see it, england have took the :censored: out of him for too long and he should tell them where to go next time they call him up to be a bench warmer

Fook England.

Carra will be making the right decision.

I'd like Stevie G to retire from international football after EURO 2008.

I doubt that will happen. Stevie is one of the few players that actually puts in a decent performance in and England shirt and is often the only posative talking point and whats more he sounds like he really enjoys playing for England.

Maybe when hes 29 or so then yeah but next year would be too early for him.
