Just because I can, I'll post up the performance ratios of all the so-called "top" managers at this club:

Coming in at number one, it's.....

John McKenna, with a wins percentage of 61.82%

At number two, enjoying a period of utter dominance, Mr Kenny Dalglish, with 60.71%.

Third in line? Bob Paisley: 56.08%.

Fourth? It's Rafa the Gaffer: 54.84%.

Fifth? Shared by Messers Fagan and Shankly: 52.38%.

Seventh place goes to: David Ashworth: 51.18%

And I really can't be bothered to go any further. Suffice to say that Rafa is easily one of the best managers we've had.

Funny isn't it, that people forget that the others actually lost matches, too...

Shankly had a loss rate of 22.7%.

Dalglish had a loss rate of 14.3%.

Paisley, 17.7%.

Rafa, 21.9%.

Awful record, that... :;):

And before the "It's too many draws that do us..." argument rears it's ugly little head, here are those stats:

Shankly: 25%.

Paisley: 26%.

Dalglish: 25%.

Rafa: 23%.

We REALLY need to stop all these draws... :O

Oh, and one final nail in the coffin of all this doom and gloom:

These stats are reflective of LEAGUE GAMES ONLY, shattering this illusion that Rafa's good record is due to the cups.

Damn, I'm good. :D

well, this just means that our rivals have stepped it up... and we weren't able to keep up with them... some blame must go down to the ownership period of David Moores... I know he's a nice guy and he's a fan... but he was too old fashioned and didn't market the LFC brand very well...

To save posting loads of stats the truth is ALL OUR GREAT MANAGERS WON THE LEAGUE..... Rafa hasn't yet..... end of!

BTW when most of the draws occurred it was BEFORE 3 points for a win, consequently a draw was considered a good result away from home, which is no longer the case under the new rules.

Lando, stats are only allowed to try to hide negativity in a neutrality cloak.

If you bring anything positive with them, we don't need stats.   :no

Bring the stats we like, those which tell the results of Rafa against the big teams and that conveniently tell us he's a cráp manager. We're only interested in neutral negativity!! Bring us our stuff!!  :no

I didn't see anyone saying he couldn't post his stats Sabre ? Or should we all just lie and say what a great manager he is just to please certain people.

Certain people used to be of the opinion that Rafa was a better manager than Dalglish, now they consider it a no contest.

How things change.

Very strange, especially considering Rafa hadn't won the league, whilst Dalglish - the inferior of the two - had won three league titles in 5 seasons.

No mate, if Rafa wins the league I will be the first to acknowledge him as a great Liverpool manager. I would be absolutely delighted to do so. Unfortunately I have to admit I have lost faith that he ever will.......but that doesn't stop me hoping !

NANNY RED wrote:While i respect you for your opinion lad and everyone is entitled to have one. I really think your in the minority here with what your saying regarding Benitez.

While many moan about rotation an what the :censored: is Raffa doing now i honestly dont think there saying what you are Raffa has contributed to the dilution of our club.

Im an awl ar.se whos seen some great managers at this club an i would certainly associate Benitez with them.

You only have to look when he is given proper financing the sort of player he can bring in. We are only reading or listening to reports of who he is after we dont really know whats going on. But to blame Raffa as part of what you call a demise is a joke imo. We are still one of the top clubs in the world lad still respected and feared that will never change. And it was Benitez who brought us back to the fore front again. Or has that slipped past you.

Look at the Ressies . Look what he is doing there thats our future . And im happy with that. Theres only 2 people trying to destroy this club lad and thats them to :censored: from across the sea. There the ones who are making us a laughing stock

very good post nanny, like you say people are entiled to their opinion but i totally agree with you. also to take the point that raffa has had to dabble in the transfer market etc he has surley made the signing of a lifetime in torres, which every manager in the prem let alone europe is jealous of!! for me there is only 2 tw@ts i"m bored with & the sooner they disappear the better
for this great club of ours.

Rafa is one of the most tehnically gifted coaches in Europe but has similar limitations IMHO as Houllier, but without Houlliers connection with the city. I am still not convinced that he has the ability to really motivate our foreign or lesser players who are not what one would call world class, Benayoun for example, Pennant for another.
Stevie, Carra as local lads are not a problem because we all know they run themselves into the ground every game. I think that Keane will do the same. But it takes a Shankly, Dalglish or a Paisley to really motivate, to inspire passion and convince these lads that success takes far more than just raw talent.

I draw a comparison with recent England managers who have failed to inspire the national team - and that should be easy!.

I am not saying that RAFA cannot do this, but Carra and Stevie apart I have seen little evidence of any true fighting spirit from the rest of the lads. There are exceptions, we can all list them but at the same time we all know what players I am talking about.

Don't remember my post as a serious one it wasn't!

I was exagerating your (the anti Rafa's) position a bit, just for fun.

Just as I don't expect you are talking seriously when you say I have rosed specs or I'm happy clappy -- I always assume it's a bit of fun and an exageration.
