Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Saw some footage of them training over in France last night, Alisson made a great save which drew a round of applause from the rest of the squad. Looks like he is going to start at the weekend.

Chelsea have just signed a keeper which surpasses the money we paid for Alisson etc.

Takes a little bit pressure off Alisson.

The way prices are being thrown at random these days I really don't think players are even bothered anymore by their transfer fee. This Kepa lad was worth no where near the price Chelsea got him for (Real Madrid almost signed him for £18m back in January) but there you have it.

I think we got Allison for just the right amount for today's market.

This guy can throw the ball further than I can kick it! Monstrous throw. His distribution with the ball at his feet looks as though it could be even better than Reina. He looks a real presence between the sticks and his stats last year are pretty impressive. He’s also not afraid to take a risk or two by the looks of it so he’ll cause some of the old ***** pundits and fans to have a dig.

Alonso would have been proud of some of those passes.

Looks good so far. A couple of decent saves and no schoolboy errors.

Still early I know, but hopefully Allison is slowly assuring the few doubters he had before we signed him that he's the real deal.

He made it look easy at Palace but even those few bits of work would have caused Karius problems, bounce off his chest or wrong footed from a set piece.

Naturally his distribution is excellent a throwback to Reina one of the first footballing keepers.

Yup his distribution is awesome reminds me of Alonso with his long ball accurate passes. Alisson is a smart GK who knows when and who to pass.

Great match winning save today, and while I love his footwork, I'm not a fan of that overconfident messing around that he's doing. I really don't like it when keepers are doing that to be honest, and Alisson should feel lucky that his antics haven't cost us a goal so far. He should be told that we don't do that at Liverpool.

I think Klopp encourages his keepers to play it at their feet. A sweeper keeper, if you like.  But agree, he'll get caught out if he's not careful.

That aside, he's been mustard between the sticks.
