For new members to introduce themselves - Guest Book

Hi all

Just thought I'ld introduce myself as a new member to the board. Liverpool fan since birth as me'ole man and uncle are scousers but since my teenage years been in tune with my local club Bristol City. Can't remember our 1-0 win over Liverpool as I was only a youngen so wont just be on here bragging on about it  :D

First of all well done in the champions league! Brillaint game, had me jumping up and down in the club house at the top of town!!! excellent night.

Main reason I've joined up to the board, although I'm sure i'll take part in some discussions, is the whole banner thing. It's brilliany when you fans go away and support the reds. It's awesome to see so many flags and banners about, absolutley taking over the other cities. Me and 5 other mates (all city fans sorry to say) have been thinking of making a flag for our home town and city for a few years now and have finally got it going! Bought the fabric for a 10x5ft st george cross but have one problem, the writing!!! We want it to be black and could easily get some black fabric to use but it maybe a little difficult. Any tips or other material which could be used for it? We don't want it tacky, we need it to look good ofcourse.

Anyway, info would be good, thanks a lot and up the reds (both of them!)

Alrite mate, welcome to the forum, yes our banners are the best, but just a little tip, dump the St georges flags idea us scousers dont like it :D
KFS Keep flags scouse, thats why you never hardly see a St Georges flag at our games.
Come up with something original instead, its well better  . Some of ours :D

Yeh if I had it all my way I would have it pure red or even better, as I'm Irish by blood, an irish flag. But I'm only one of 6 so we decided on the st george flag - keeping the hatred fuming with the scum across the severnside bridge (Baaaaadiff)

My question again though, should I just buy the cotton and sew it on using templates or is there anywhere which do it proffesionally?

Cost you a bomb getting one made mate, but i know our lads use MS word, for the stencils, and nylon for the banners.

yeh we found that out, over £100 easily for a flag. I think I'll look for some nylon to sew it on then.

cheers anyway

easier than sewing is fabric glue, especially the iron on stuff.

1. cut out your letters
2. sprinkle on some magic glue powder
3. iron
and
4. hey presto -  a waste of effort because its a bristol flag.

I like the actual putting the bun in the oven, it's what comes out 9 months down the line that causes all the trouble

maybe i should learn to sew and just stitch the missus up  :D
