One of my all time favourite artists, mate - He's a god d@mn genius in my book.... Favourite album for me is Infidels.
Been listening to his stuff again after your post.
"When the night comes falling from the sky" from the Empire Burlesque album is playing as I type this.
Bob Dylan: indeed a genius At the moment I'm listening a lot to the new Band Of Horses album. If you fellas haven't heard any of their music yet, you really ought to take a listen to one of their two albums... or better yet: both! Great melodic and melancholic yet at the same time somehow uplifting tunes.
Will give 'em a try..... How would you classify them musically...
Rock, folk, alternative, blues?
I often find it a bit difficult with the classifications mate, but I'll give it a go anyway: it's american indierock (though what does indie really mean these days?) with an ear for great melodies. The lyrics often circulate around darker subjects, but still most of the songs manage to sound somewhat positive due to the very melodic tunes and the singers sincere voice. You could say that Neil Young could perhaps be one of their inspirations, but check it out for yourself! ("Funeral" from their first album is probably their most known track, if you're looking for one song to start out with, and it is indeed a beauty).
Sorry if this description doesn't tell you too much, but as I said I'm not so great with the classifications Oh, and I hope you enjoy it, if you get to listen to it.
