Marvin Gaye- What's Going On/What's Happening Brother (From the "Save the Children concert, Chicago, 1972"). Oh what an absolute classic, Words still relevant today, in that, what is going on, in the world today!!
damn, they were one of my favourite bands back in the day. it was hard keeping up with the changes in their line up sometimes but they were deffo one of the true heavyweights of the 70`s along with zeppelin and sabbath. deep purple were originally put together by chris curtis who was the drummer in the searchers (the liverpool band from the 60`s) but curtis dropped out before the band got big and paicey came in. jon lord was one of the originals who started the band with curtis. R.I.P mate and thanks for the music.
a couple more DP classic`s, echo`s from a time when musicians had talent
Biggest Love is Pink Floyd (Rotterdam Division Bell Tour) if you have the oppurtunity go see the Aussie Floyd show they are really good.
I'm now listening to the XX who's second album was released today. i bet you'll be amazed at how many of their songs you know already due to ever TV channel using them for background music.
