anyone know of any decent free software to do this?

Those free trials are sh1t because they only let you transfer 20 odd songs at once so it will take ages.


My computer crashed so I lost all the music in my itunes. So i need a program that gets all the songs off my Ipod so I can then re-import them into my itunes.

To be honest I haven't found any freeware good enough, the same thing happened to me and I ended up paying £15 for software that did the job. The way I saw it was I would have been willing to pay someone else £15 to recover my songs so I might as well buy the software.

I decided on buying CopyTrans

I downloaded the free trial of that and it seems good.

You can transfer 100 songs at one time with that. I foolishly thought it was achievable that I could get all 3000 songs back by doing it 100 at a time and for it not to take me forever and a day

I gave up after 200

This looks like it has hundreds of utilities.  Don't know if there is a password cracker in there but one of the utilities is an iPod to PC.  Might work.  Might not...

Yeah great stuff, my hard drive has a habit of breaking, downloaded some sh.itty software to get songs from ipod to pc an it lost a load of them on the way somehow, ill try some on this thread in future
