Right guys and girls. I need a bit of help here before I go mad!!!!!
My other half bought me an IPod nano (in pink lol) for my birthday and I have been trying from yesterday morning to get music on it!!!! :D
I can get proper CD's on it but I have an external hard drive that has over 500 albums that have been downloaded from limewire or torrents and I would love to copy a few off them across to the IPod. The problem is they go into ITunes ok but they go in as single songs and not as the albums I have created and they mix up with the CD albums I have already ripped.
The instruction booket is :censored:. It just gives you the basics and nothing else!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In itunes click FILE and then NEW PLAYLIST.

Type the name of the artist or group in.

Then click on the artists name that you have just typed.

The main area should now be blank.

Highlight all the songs you want to put in here and drag them into the main area.

Then when they are all in click on your device (make sure your iPod is plugged in to your computer)

Then click on music up here

Then make sure your artist or groups name is ticked here

The click on apply at the bottom right hand corner.

That SHOULD sync it and the music will be on your iPod under that artists name only.

Good luck!

There is a simpler method. Just highlight all the tracks that belong to a single album, right click and select Get Info. Type in the correct album name for those tracks. The tracks will now belong to the same album and if you select the update album artwork they should all show the same album cover and group together automagically.

As long as all the metadata is properly set up once you drag all the songs onto a playlist it should recognise them as albums. I think in the new itunes version there is an option to collect the album info which is very handy. I have an iphone! :)
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
