I've been down the cop shop all night, have not been in long.
My son and a few of his mates were picked up on suspicion of posting graffiti.
I was down there ages and for most part the boys were locked in the cells.
Someone had seen them hanging around and assummed they were up to no good. They were only down the park.
The lads denied it all and no cans were found. The eyewitness (who I think was viewing from a window) didn't actually see anyone do any graffiti.
But the police said they had to take it seriously.
They picked the lads up at 5.oo this afternoon and rang me and the other parents. We've been down the police station for hours!!
I had to go down there as my son is still a minor, being 15.
The police took DNA evidence (swabs in the mouth), and they were fingerprinted and photographed. The sargeant said he would have insisted even if I didn't agree, so we had no choice.
They were all released without charge in the end as there wasn't any evidence and the eyewitness couldn't identify them further.
On the positive...I hope that this acts as a warning if they ever think of doing anything like this.
So....to any other youngsters who may be reading this...be careful who you hang about with....and think twice before doing this as the police DO take it seriously.
And remember there is nearly ALWAYS someone watching you.
I'm just glad my son is safe and well.
But I could think of better things to do on a sunday eve..and I missed Corrie
