This guy living on the 20th floor in an apartment building got up early each morning to go to work in a downtown store. He always went into the elevator on the 20th floor and rode down to the entrance (1st floor). When he came home he always rode the elevator from the entrance and up to the 8th floor. He walked out of the elevator and walked the stairs up to his apartment on the 20th floor.

dunno if this is cheating but,

put one coin each unto the weigh scale, put the penny in. should come to 32 grams, then remove the coins one by one.

If it is a balance type scale, put one coin from one bag on one side and one from another on the other side, if the scales are level both coins are real, so the third bag is fake, if one side is lower then the bag you got that coin from is fake

But because there are coins which weigh 10 grams, the overall weight will be less. the difference between 66 grams and the real weights will determine what bag contains the real gold. for example if the real weight of all 6 coins is 64, then 66-64 is 2, so the real coins are in bag number 2.

I saw that puzzle on Columbo. He was investigating a murder from within a Mensa group. The murderer presented the puzzle to Columbo near the beginning of the show then Columbo gave him the answer later on, just before he busted his arse! Nice one Columbo.

Why would there be a room in the middle of the desert?

He found an oasis and was just floating in the water, therefore just "hanging". He needed to cool down and found what he was looking for. Doors and windows would have been locked because it is a pool.
