This guy living on the 20th floor in an apartment building got up early each morning to go to work in a downtown store. He always went into the elevator on the 20th floor and rode down to the entrance (1st floor). When he came home he always rode the elevator from the entrance and up to the 8th floor. He walked out of the elevator and walked the stairs up to his apartment on the 20th floor.

Why don't he take the elevator all the way up to his apartment?

I have three sacks of gold coins. You can have one of them, but there is a catch. Only one of the bags contain real gold coins, the other two bags contain fake gold coins. The real gold coins weigh 10 grams each, the fake ones weigh 11 grams. To help you make your choice, there are a set of weighing scales. The weighing scales need 1 penny to work (you put the penny in and they work) and you only have one penny to use.
How do you choose the right bag?

dunno if this is cheating but,

put one coin each unto the weigh scale, put the penny in. should come to 32 grams, then remove the coins one by one.

too easy, so that must be wrong..

If it is a balance type scale, put one coin from one bag on one side and one from another on the other side, if the scales are level both coins are real, so the third bag is fake, if one side is lower then the bag you got that coin from is fake

you take one out of one bag, two out of the second and three out of the third. you weigh these coins and it should, if all weigh 11 grams, 66 grams. But because there are coins which weigh 10 grams, the overall weight will be less. the difference between 66 grams and the real weights will determine what bag contains the real gold. for example if the real weight of all 6 coins is 64, then 66-64 is 2, so the real coins are in bag number 2.

good one that, took me a while but im just too clever :p

Well done.
I saw that puzzle on Columbo. He was investigating a murder from within a Mensa group. The murderer presented the puzzle to Columbo near the beginning of the show then Columbo gave him the answer later on, just before he busted his arse! Nice one Columbo.

a man was found hanging in a room in the desert, all the doors and windows were locked from the inside and he was alone. there was also no furniture in the room to stand on and kick away.

how did he hang himself?

He stood on a block of ice, and waited for it to melt,

He found an oasis and was just floating in the water, therefore just "hanging". He needed to cool down and found what he was looking for. Doors and windows would have been locked because it is a pool.
