Anyone into Dead or Alive 4? I had it when it first came out but the online was laggy and took ages to get into a lobby so I sold it, I've seen a copy on eBay for £10 (inc P&P) so I might have a gander again. :)

I'm thinking about getting Forza Motorsport 2. But I asked my friends about it and they said it was rubbish. They said the racing was really slow and it was long. So my friend let me borrow FM 2 and NFS Pro Street to see if I liked them.

I think that NFS is a bit rubbish, it's not that much fun now that you're off the streets.

I didn't like FM the first time, but now that I've played NFS, it seems a lot better. I like the look of the customization and the range of cars.

So is it good? Are the endurance races really boring or is it not as bad as he said? Is it worth getting FM 2?

Yeah mate Forza 2 is a great game, I traded it in but only cos I'm a PGR addict, Forza is worth getting but imo PGR is a LOT more fun

My gamertag has changed, I'm now A1P PaulConUK :;):

I dunno about Burnout Paradise, I don't like driving round looking for races, it wastes time when you could be racing imo :(

There's an 'event' at every traffic intersection - s.hit loads.

This version 'Paradise' is very different to the previous incarnations of Burnout. Takedown for me was the best, but this runs it a close second.

Most of the racers out there stick to the same tried and trusted formulae - which is exactly what bores the ar5e off me and doesn't hold my attention beyond a few achievement points. This however (although takes some getting used to) i find to be far more intuitive, far more creative in the sense of HOW you finish a race - there are countless shortcuts, jumps  and hidden areas that can give the sharpwitted burner an edge over his rival..but above all else, when you weigh up the complete deal - it is far and away a hell of a lot more FUN. A hybrid between all of the others with added grin factor. For me anyway.

Of course, this being the current-gen era. A lot of the online content makes up a fair portion of the games appeal. There is a whole new world available to players online, with hundreds of co-op challenges, races to set up, places to meet and organize your own 'thing' - sadly though (and my biggest gripe) NO ONLINE ROAD RAGE!  :(  Yet, anyway...Oh and the soundtrack is s.hit. Custom ftw.

Also they removed Crash mode - wtf! And replaced it with 'Showtime'. Which after a while, i think i actually prefer...you have a say in the amount of damage you can inflict now, whereas before it was largely scripted.

Still, that said it is an entertaining game. Speed is INSANE!! 60 fps throughout. NO loading screens whatsoever! Scores of stuff to do...muck up on a race or a target? There's another event less than a 100 metres away. At least it promotes discovering the whole map, unlike TDU which i found myself dreading venturing too far into - just was too big and spread out. This aint, its big yeah - but there is always something to unearth. It is fluent and fresh. Different, of course...but that isn't always a bad thing. I just wish they kept one or two of the old features then it would have been perfect!

8.7/10 - gerrit!!  :D
