Master League is still a joke and no online leagues.
There is other games I would rather spend my money on for my 360, DS and Wii. PES needs a whole new engine!
look at this if you need proof!

Honestly, the fella that made that video didn't have a point to make at all whatsoever. If anything, he was just being overly pedantic and fussy about inane stuff that happens in the game. In fact, it can be argued that f*ck up in AI of the players in the game is what makes the game great as you tend to see different things happen every so often. This is nothing to moan about. The fella who made this video really should get a life.
Pro Evo is an awesome game, and has no peer. End of. Football is a complex sport, and Pro Evo has been the only game to get it right for a computer game. Fifa isn't even close, even if the new version did borrow heavily from the Pro Evo format and way of playing, it's still not even as good and that speaks volumes for Konami and Seabass.
But them flaws have been in the game for 4 years now. it is Blatent CPU cheating. I don't understand why there is pro evo fans who don't want to admit the game has flaws etc. No wonder Konami are giving us a PS2 engine in HD and calling it next gen.
I like FIFA 08 and think it plays well. the FIFA physics are way ahead of PES 2008. in FIFA they also have manual passing/shooting that craps all over the scripted system in PES.
Until Sebass creates a real next-gen engine them flaws will always remain.
Every game has it's flaws. Not one is perfect. But the flaws that guy pointed out in the video were just so ridiculous that it's not even worth talking about. The main flaw for me in Pro Evo has been when players seem to chase a ball that is going dead and you can't stop him, so he either touches it out giving away a corner or a throw in, or sometimes an OG. For some reason, this flaw isn't as apparent in this year's game, but it's still there. That's just something that hasn't been fixed.
Regardless, this series has never been better. All E.A's bullsh*t talk of air pressure in the ball and affecting the dynamics of how it travels through the air is just complete bollox. You can add all the physics in a game in the world, but when it comes to a game of this sort, it comes down to how it feels as a player when you are playing it. It has to be fun, while retaining a pure footballing feel to it. Fifa 08 is an improvement over their usual shyte they make. It only took them like 12 years to catch on, and even at that it was Pro Evo they took their mold from.
The manual passing system in Fifa is not new, I'm afraid. Pro Evo had that years ago first way back on the PSX. You could use the right stick to hit a manual pass into space. It was unplayable most of the time using this method, so Konami ditched it. It really doesn't improve the game at all.
Another thing: I don't understand why people are still saying this "next-gen" phrase. These machines (well 360 has) been about for over 2 years now. They are current generation now. Either way, most of the games produced are not a million miles apart from what was seen in the previous generation. Fifa 08 is only now starting to resemble what Pro Evo was 7 years ago. E.A concentrated on making Fifa 08 play too much how real football LOOKS like it's being played when it's on the TV. What they've done is created a sim that is sluggish and often boring. They've taken the game out of video game. They are far too concerned with using all the tech inside the system instead of making the game exciting and fun for the user. Though, I do agree, Pro Evo does need a drastic overhaul is it is starting to get stale a bit. Though it's still got it's magic.
End of the day, it comes down to the old phrase: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. No other football game comes even close to Pro Evo 08, and for all it's faults, when you're playing it and shouting like you were watching the CL final in Istanbul, all is forgiven. Long live Pro Evo.
