and what are your thoughts on Israel bombing the UN post in the south of lebanon, killing 4 unarmed UN watchers? do you think it was an "accident", i mean its obvious it wasn't and accident!!!
I watched the press conference but then turned TV off..Condelezza Rice's two-facedness and unconcern disgusted me..
Ah by the way Metalhead, i agree with you..In every Israel bombing lots of civilians, UN watchers, independent doctors, foreign volunteers dead ""accidentally""
Dying accidentally in civil and neutral areas!!
What a joke!

Well Israel shouldn't have resorted into war! Yesterday an israeli journalist asked our Prime Minister, Fouad El-Seniora, if he was olmert place would he have done the same, he said he wouldn't and wouldn't resort to war. He said he would use peace making relations and would negotiate, plus put a peace offer on the table to stop these stupid things from happening. Then he carried on saying that Israel has been planning this war for a long time and it was planned to start in the fall, to remove hizballah. Israel's major threat is Hizballah, so they won't stop until they remove them and use the 1559 UN decision. So more destruction and killings in the weeks to come, because this is going to be a long war.
Lebanon is never going to be peaceful - there are too many factions jockying for power
sorry, but BS, even though there are too many factions, Lebanon has now unified itself into a unit. We are becoming a good democratic country, but still weak. We were in the building phase of becoming a really strong country, until matters went out of hands. We enjoyed a year peace right now and we wanted to enjoy it even more until july 12 2006 things went overboard.
If Israel had not reacted to the capture/kidnap of its soldiers would there be any posts condemming the actions of Hizzbolah,Idoubt it.Life would have carried on in Lebanon, rocket attacks on Israel would have continued, thats ok we will give the Zionists a bloody nose.As soon as Isreal retaliates there is uproar.
Wrong! Hizballah would have never fired any rockets to israel if israel didn't resort to war. Sure Hizballah is to blame, but Hizballah has warned before Israel that if they hit lebanon they will hit back, and during the war, when Israel threatned to hit beirut, Hizballah warned them if they do hit beirut they will hit haifa, so what did israel do? hit beirut! they hit beirut for 2 days until hizballah hit haifa! Nasrallah said that hizballah and israel should negotiate and not fight each other, plus if you watched his first speech, he replied translated into english: " Israel wants an open war, so we will give them an open war" this is when he declared war on israel after israel hitting beirut.
As soon as Isreal retaliates there is uproar.
I saw CNN what it does! they cause a huge uproar in the states when hizballah hits israel, condeming lebanon. Alot of people from the States and Europe are backing Israel attacks!

Israel should compensate Lebanon as well for all the damage they have done to Lebanons cities and infrastructure, let's face it they have the money.
Yeah I agree - and since Hamas is not the "official" government in Lebanon, maybe they could compensate for all the damage caused by the suicide bombers?

agreed with you LFC#1, Israel should pay us compensation for the destruction they did.
Cheers red37, well i'm not in lebanon right now, but its not going well at all, Beirut right now is quite, but the south is getting bombarded heavily. Whats interesting that the Israeli soldiers can't capture "Bint El Jbeil", a town next to the border, because of hizballah forces not letting them come near it, so israel are using air tactics and artillary to weaken the forces in that town.
and whats so funny the israel generals and hizballah generals are calling each other liars and having some exchange of words!
I just want the war to be over and go back home, im getting tired of this.

Suicide bombers destroy a restaurant, Israel destroy a whole city.
I don't agree with suicide bombing, but it hardly effects Israel's economy and infrastructure to the extent that Lebanon is going to be effected by this War.
As long as the money is correctly allocated to rebuilding infrastructure and so forth. The Leabense government has to seperate itself form nay terrorist organisation, i.e. denounce Hezbollah.
It is in Israel's best interest to do this IMO, as if it leaves Lebanon in ruin, it leaves a very volatile country on it's border, and in times of despair, extremist regimes tend to come to power.
If Israel destroys Hezbollah it would suit it's best interests if it helps the Lebanese government rebuild the country, as they are in no state to do it on their own.
