Whilst treatment like that continues their will always be huge problems in the region. I dont see why they just dont create a Palistinian state, that would solve half the problems.

[QUOTE Metalhead]I mean come on this is not about the two kidnapping prisoners, this is about destroying Lebanon and putting pressure on the Lebanese government and the U.N to use the 1559 decision (which states that Hizb-allah's arms and weopons should be removed.
Hi Metalhead, Glad to see you are ok.If Hizb-Allah are not terrorists what are they, one mans terrorist is anothers freedom fighter. Why would Israel want to destroy Lebanon. Are you not free in Lebanon, has your country not prospered in the last 15 years without interference from Israel.Your country cannot expect to allow Hizb Allah to launch rockets from inside your country without some response.Yes Israel has killed innocent people, but innocent people are being killed in Israel as well you know.
Your countries leaders have turned a blind eye to the activities of Hizb-Allah.Why has the Lebanese government allowed them to use your country to launch these attacks for years? You speak of Zionist terrorists, that is a seperate debate, one which you have a lot more knowledge of than me.Iam just talking about the current conflict.
Metalhead I have no axe to grind with you,I hope you and your family come out of this safely, its just the way Isee it.
Why would Israel want to destroy Lebanon

Cool Hand Luke, the problem is that Israel are blaming the lebanese army for aiding the Hizballah forces, so they bombed some lebanese army bases in some area in Lebanon, plus Hizballah has a much more powerful army than the lebanese army. Hizballah mostly control the military in the country and thats the problem.

Perhaps this concept is strange for a British, because they have been enjoying a solid democracy for a lot of years, so did their parents, and the generation before.
BUt truth is that democracies in transition not always control their military. Now Spain has a solid democracy, but we had a coup d'etat in 1983! almost yesterday! because there was some military that was nostalgic of the old regime.
Cleaning those military personnel is not easy even if the whole majority of the country is against them, they simply have the power, and the transition to a democracy is not something that is achieved in one day.
Those attacks won't help in that transition, that's for sure.

Well it's been going on for at least 3000 years - so whats another 100 years in the grand scheme of things.
