Nowadays tennis stars are so correct and sportive. Nadal praises Federer, Federer praises Nadal...

My favourite was Borg, just clinically cool. Ivanisevic, the year when he won was just fantastic also.

Mine Ivan Lendl, because his name is like mine and when you are a child you like that! Still great player, and he played a lot of years.

I was too young to see Borg

P.S. S@int and Red till dead are doing a tennis match in the general discussion section. Red Till dead tried to go to the net to make a smashing shot, but Saint is answering with strong balls from the back of the court.  :D

bigmick wrote:Used to fecking love the tennis cos my pub was just about the nearest one to the courts. First week of Wimbledon on the year before we left we took 135 grand (which for anyone who knows anything about what pubs take is an absolute fortune, so much so that it sounds like complete bullsh!t but I swear it isn't). I was I hasten to add only the manager (it was a managed house) but even so it was fecking great. I was there for four years and we used to get a lot of the players in while the tournament was on, Andy Roddick used to come to our after tournament staff do (top bloke as well, loves a beer). Used to pop down there every year as all the uniform lads who did the show courts were in every night, swung us into centre court and number one nine times out of ten without a bother. Great times.

Anyhow to answer the question before I start meself off on the blub, I think Federer will get beat this year probably mid tournament. Nadal will win his first Wimbledon while Sharapova will win the womens, which is cool because she's extremely lovely.

Thats a huge amount of cash.  Im in a band and we did a gig in cardiff abd the landlord was made up as he took 10 grand and the place was heaving,  135 is a huge amount.  How many bottles of Pimms did you sell :D

Why are English people supporting Andy Murray?

He's made it very clear that he doesn't even consider himself "British".

So for all those silly cows from England cheering him on....he frickin hates you all.

Andy Murray is a useless tw*t who will hopefully get battered in the next round.

I want Federer to win but something about his game this year seems out of sync.... so sadly, I think it'll be Bicep Boy that takes it home.

As far as the women are concerned...... It has to be Sharapova...... Anna is nice but she reminds of the Neo-Nazi girl  I went to school with. So no, Maria for me every time.....

Bob..... No one even comes close to Steffi for me..... the legs on that girl.... :nod

They should cut the men's game down to three sets.

Five sets are too boring.

They should also sack Sue Barker, because her face is too wrinkly and quite frankly, sunlight is not her friend.

Djokovic got crushed by Safin yesterday.... Safin will always be the great enigma for me. You never know when the real one will show up.... The utter genius whose more than capable of beating anyone on his day, or the unstable, weak minded, emotional cripple who just self destructs.... Another example of pure talent going to waste because of a weak mind.....

Still, he's a joy to watch when he's on song.... sadly those days are now occurring less frequently. Hope he holds himself together this time around.
