I did and I must say--as a diehard Lost fan who's defended the show against the doubters all along--I was really disappointed with both the finale and the season overall. Is it me or does there seem to be far too much pointless running about from crisis to crisis of late? Sure, in the midst of all that we do get some tasty nuggets about characters we've wondered about for a long time but there seems to be far less investment in exploring character motivations this season--which makes it all seem so...random. And how boring has the love quadrangle between Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet gotten? FFS, I don't care who loves who anymore (unless Kate and Juliet decide to hook up, that is). It just disappoints me that a season that promised so much (why and how are these people going back to the island and what will they find there?) fizzled out so spectacularly. I hope they sort it out for the final season or Lost will just be another of Abrams' shows that started off brilliantly and ended in a whimper (Alias, anyone?).

I agree about not caring anymore about the love square, and how alias fizzled. but the locke/guy at the beginning of the finale/jacob story seems pretty awesome. Also, where the hell did those people come from that had that trunk? I vaguely remember them knocking out the pilot, but were they on the plane?

The whole Locke thing was interesting...the other story line decidedly not (IMO, of course). As for the people you speak of...yes, they were on the 2nd plane (well, Elana was for sure). And that's all I'll say in deference to those still waiting to watch...

That's one of my frustrations this season...they did a poorer job, IMO, of keeping the various plot threads going. The other people that crashed and were left behind by Locke, Sun etc. just dropped off our radar for ages whereas, in past seasons, there'd be little reminders that they were still in the picture sprinkled into the season's story.
Also, could we have a little backstory on this fella please...like who p!ssed in his cornflakes?
