Jails Watchdog Bans St George Tiepins
Prison officers wearing St George's Cross tiepins have been ticked off by the jails watchdog.
The English national flag could be "misinterpreted" as a racist symbol, the Chief Inspector of Prisons, Anne Owers, said in a report on Wakefield prison.
The pins had been bought by officers at the top security jail to support a cancer charity.
A section on race relations in Ms Owers' report said: "We were concerned to see a number of staff wearing a flag of St George tiepin.

What a load of bollox.Another instance of political correctness gone mad.I dont know of any other country in the World,that would reprimand people for waring there national emblem/flag.
If this had been a jail in Scotland and prison officers had been
waring the cross of St ANDREW would they have been reprimanded.I doubt it.What is wrong with these people they see racism in everything.
