I've heard people say that before as well but you can? Strange - give it a try if you want, but your poll has to be on something more interesting than mine which is pretty damn good.

up to 2 years ago - doing alright. the last couple of years - next to frig all. luckily my girlfriend, who used to earn next to frig all is now doing alright. what comes around goes around i guess. sometimes its nice to be a non-conformist male non major breadwinner.

I wouldn't be so openly crass as to state a figure but my aim is to retire at 50 and sell up and move abroad

When my lotto numbers come up tonight how much I earn will be irrevelent

Actually its irrevelent now, i earn lot more now then I did a few years ago but I seemed a lot happier and content with my life and work a few years back, go figure.

Ive travelled to places like Africa and Thailand where I basically a billionaire and yet those people seem to have a more of a smile on their faces then some of sad gits I work with in Oz

mmm I probably shouldnt have answered this question before I had my morning coffee

:D

I earn okay with my local currency (Ringgit Malaysia), but its peanuts in £.
My monthly bills runs up to 80% of my pay (house mortgage + internet + cable tv), so it'll just be enough for the odd dinner out with the family and if we save enough, we'll be able to afford for holidays, maybe about once every two years.

But I have lovely kids (that's what I'll say to my self each time I see the neighbor pack up for hols)  :sniffle   :)   :D

I'm in the same boat. But the ringgit is worth much more now that the euro and pound have dropped significantly.

I'm also saving a hell of lot more now that I've stopped flying to liverpool to catch a home game each year.

So true that. The further up the ladder we go, the more responsibility, work and stress we get. General happiness seems a lot more important than the amount of money you earn. Having said that, I think having enough to live comfortably is important - having more than that and keeping yourself for it doesn't make a lot of sense.
