Mario Kart gets the majority vote at the moment and I have to agree it is mint, I love playing 4 player on Mario Kart Double Dash (gamecube), I also have to agree that GTA: Vice City is mint but I can't be assed to do the missions as I like games that you can just pick up and play, the all time great game for lastability has to be the Gran Turismo game

I have played double dash on the cube and it has all the qualities of the old mario kart but superb graphics so i loved it!

i bought a second hand SNES last march and i expected it to break after a month or so but its still going strong  :D  ive completed all of the marios about 4 times since i got it, never gets boring !!

Everyone goes on about the Nintendo systems being for kids but they make games that are fun to play unlike the PS2 which has a lot of simulators and more 'serious' games where the gamecube has the likes of Mario Kart, Super Monkeyball 2, etc which are just pure fun :)

can anyone recommend any good 2 player games for PS2?

i love racing like wipeout fusion + burnout, and strategy and one person shooters. my girlfriend likes platforms, final fantasy, gran tourismo. we both like fun stuff too...

we've been lookng for a game we can play together thats not racing or fighting (we do that for real)... oh, and sports games are out aswell

or shall we just get out more?

Burnout 3
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Need for Speed Underground 2
Crash Bandicoot

I don't find that their are that many good 'fun' games on the PS2 cos thats why I got a Gamcube.
