Best christmas present ever? - What's yours?

Well, to comemorate the eve of "steak and blow job" day I started thinking: "What holiday would I make up?" but I couldn't really improve on the former. So I was trying to think of the best pressie I ever got for X-mas and wondered if we could conjure up some precious memories about the subject? I don't mean the pressies that were the coolest or most expensive, but the ones that made you the happiest.

When I was a kid, I used to have those Ring Raider (sounds a lot dodgier now) toys (even dodgier when you add "toy" after it). They were the little planes that were attached by clear plastic rods to rings that you wore on your fingers. One Christmas, I got the massive carrier plane, the mother ship with loads of little bits and pieces, bays, lifts, weapons. I don't think I've felt that sort of happiness since. When you're a kid, happiness is innocent and you never really get it again.

What's yours?

Judge and/or Lando will be all over that "Ring raider toy" thing. Shouldn't have mentioned it really. :D

i had all the figures, 20 storm troopers, 3 leias, 3 hans and 3 lukes.. about 150 in all. i also had at-ats, tie fighters, x wings...everything. then when i went to uni my mum sold them all

That sounds depressing mate.

I got a boss Armani watch off a gf a few years ago - then threw it away when we split up!

Ace, I can agree that there was not much of that hapiness around then.

It's not so much depressing as it is dissapointing. Think back to when you were a nipper, when a beano and a sweet, or some new lego, maybe a packet of micromachines could keep you entertained. While we still have innocence, we are not worried by nuclear weapons, terrorists, the environment, but knowledge destroys this. We have our memories and with these we can remember this sort of happiness, but we can never recapture it. I guess winning the lottery, or having a kid come close, but I haven't experianced those yet.
