Did you catch Love Exposure on film4?

Man that films weird. It's basically 4 hours of a guy turning into a ninja cameraman to take photos up gals skirts so his priest father will hit him. then theres swords and blood. (there is much more than that, its a love triangle of epically strange surreal proprotions

Confessions is probably my favourite recently. Premise is:A psychological thriller of a grieving mother turned cold-blooded avenger with a twisty master plan to pay back those who were responsible for her daughter's death.

These films could never be remade ... too f*cked up, but this is perfectly filmed, the sound and editing is outstnading and it is probably the best film to come out of the eastern market since OldBoy

Think I might have seen that Daws. Is it a Jap movie and the mother is a teacher planning revenge on students for her daughters death ? . Good movie but don't know if I'd put it up there with "Old Boy" but deffo worth a watch.

For me it probably goes:

1: OldBoy
2: Zatoichi
3: Princess Aurora
4: Infernal Affairs
5: Confessions
6: I'm a Cyborg but thats OK
7: Suicide Club
8: Battle Royale
9: Gong Wu
10: Joint Security Area

(the positions change, but these are, in my opinion, the best 10... not including more horror or the classic 7 Samurai types)

I'm a big fan of the spectacular "epics" as well as the martial arts stuff but leaving those genre's aside, my fave top 10 is probably

1. Visitor Q
2. Old Boy
3. Infernal Affairs
4. Versus
5. Spring Summer Autumn Winter ............. and Spring
6. The Bird People of China
7. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
8. Ichi the Killer
9. Kikujiro
10. A Bittersweet Life

Great choices as well. Ichi is just insane, and Versus is up there. Visitor Q is possibly even too freaky for me.

I did used to love the weird ones, Battlefield Baseball, stuff like that

I have been watching a few Asian films lately mate ,my daughter is absolutely in love with the entire culture from Korean food ,Korean music ,Korean films
and she even watches their soap operas . I watched a film the other night with her called Chilling Romance/Spellbound ,a kooky romantic comedy /horror
film, I was reluctant at first ,but its funny as fucck and destined to be cult Asian classic ..... although the Americans will probably taint it with
their own adaptation .

Koreans turn out some great stuff. Mate if she's into Korean stuff look out for Arahan one of my favourite Korean films, it came out a few years ago and you may have missed it. Set it the modern day it's a mixture of martial arts and laughs.
clicky -->Arahan trailer

(there's torrents with english subs knocking about.)
