Watched Ong Bak 3 last night........ so disappointed with the outcome.... I had waited with baited breath waiting for the final episode of this saga and  frankly .... It was a severe let down  ...Ong Bak 3 the Beginning was perceptive and a feast of action ,but why we had to watch the Hero being unmercifully beaten to a pulp in the final instalment, and then spend the rest of the film watching his slow recuperation only for our thirst for martial arts action to be quenched in a indecently quick last 20 mins, then fuck knows why the makers of this Saga thought this would be enough to sate our hunger .... I for one speaking as someone who had hoped for a lot more.... am at a loss to explain

Rarely does a sequel measure up to the first in the franchise and particularly so in Asian cinema. As a general rule of thumb the higher the number the more disappointed you're likely to be.

In the meantime saw these two on the shelves in Sainsbury's yesterday, both under a tenner think I'll go back today and get them

Not spectacular but at less than a tenner each both were worth the purchase.

Meanwhile I'm keeping eye's peeled for a new offering from Korea.

I Saw the Devil.

Refused a certificate by Korean censors it was edited resubmitted and AGAIN refused a certificate ! Christs sake, lookin' at some of the stuff from Korea just how bad/violent/sick/gory is this movie ?

Starring the Min-sik Choi and Lee Byung-hun, lead actors from Old Boy and Bitter Sweet Life it's the tale of a Korean CIA type agent on the trail of a serial killer who killed the agents girlfriend. He doesn't want to arrest the serial killer, he wants to make him suffer, slowly .

Eventually given a certificate after 7 minutes were removed from the movie the film was finally released. Word is that when the DVD comes out it will be the full uncut version.

Great director as well, made A Bittersweet Life, a tale of two sisters and most recently the good the bad and the weird.. cheers, will definately catch that (unrated of course)

Far from the greatest ever BUT if like me you're a sucker for asian "historical" swordplay movies this ones deffo worth catching.

It was lookin good Red BUT I need binoculars to read the subtitles on the torrent I have, they're really small, turned it off after 15 mins.

Will search for a version with better subs.

Anyone ever seen any of the original Grudge films? How do they compare to the US ones?

Haven't seen the US versions Bav, but would bet that if you enjoyed them you should check out the original, I've never seen a Hollywood version of a foreign film, especially asian, that was actually better than the original.
