Stop whatever you are doing right now and acknowledge and salute a truly magnificant Liverpool achievement............

With a  team scratched together with players who haven't kicked a competitive ball and a player who had a run out for 45 mins last weekend we overcame the not so mighty Juventus and make the semi fianl.

To a man they stood tall and stood strong and we all stood together and as a result Walk On into the semi final.

I can't put into words how proud I was of the lads tonight except to say it ranks alongside those great European nights  which thankfully are too many to mention.

We are ONE , we are TOGETHER and we will NEVER walk alone not because we have bought all the most expensive players , not because we use whatever means possible to win a game but because WE ARE LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB

Once again I have to single out Igor for special praise. I hope the man is given a new contract at Liverpool because he had a very good game tonight and has not let us down once this evening. The reason I single him out is because of what he's gone though in his time at Liverpool, and the fact that his contract is out this summer. Yet he still gave everything. Well done Igor, well done lads. COME ON YOU REDS!!!

Smicer apparently said that Benitez is seen by all the players (apart from Henchoz :D ) as being an extremely fair man. A few guys know they are leaving yet Benitez continues to pick them.

All round nice guy, but a winner too. :)

I remember LFC going to Bayern munich in 81 on the back of a 0-0 and drawing 1-1 to reach the Final, I remember LFC beating benfica 4-1 away and who could forget the 1984 final in Rome when we overcame Roma on their home ground to lift the European Cup but I tell you in the modern game this ranks alongside anything LFC have achieved away from Anfield in Europe :p

Interesting fact: that bayern match is apparently the last time an English club has won a European cup tie on away goals.  :oh:

The two matches against Juve have redeemed this season. in the premiership we have been inconsistant and not really playing as we should, but knocking Juve out is a huge achievement. sure, Juve did not play particularly well except for the 2nd half at anfield, but nevertheless
Form is temporary.......Class is permanent

Juventus FC and Liverpool FC
