Surez will be a big loss for Uruguay. I think Holland are without Van der Wiel and someone else too but they should have enough about them to finish Uruguay off. Hope Kuyt scores!

Who are you calling a queen? ( and I assume the attempt to link me with a german family is to make me unpopular given the week)

The pope gets no action

The PM has to work with liberals

Why wish that on me?

Lets hope Dirk can go all teh way.

I heard that, though silver lining plan B if he isnt in Roy's plans this performance would be adding the euros to his price tag

Had a relatively comfy ride there

Group : South Africa, France, Mexico
L16 : South Korea
QF : Ghana

France were cr ap, South Africa are cr ap, Mexico have now made it five second round/last 16 appearances in a row, South Korea are ok but nothing special and Ghana were that one team from Africa that normally gets out of the groups.

Ghana should have won that game, terrible penalty that would have won it outright and then some poor penalties in the shootout. Did I hear some pr ick on ITV say he was glad it wasn't England?!?!?!? Yeah cause it's much better to lose badly 1-4 in the L16 than have a penalty shoot-out to reach a World Cup semi-final..........................  :no

But that does make Ghana the best African performer in World Cups, overtaking Cameroon on the grounds of a better second best performance :

1. Ghana : QF x1, R2 x1
2. Cameroon : QF x1, R2 x0
3. Senegal : QF x1, R2 x0
4. Nigeria : QF x0, R2 x2
5. Morocco : QF x0, R2 x1

Cameroon edge out Ghana in my current ranking system by virtue of six appearances to Ghana's two. 13 different African nations have reached the World Cup finals, EIGHT have never got beyond the group stage

Stand by my prediction that Argentina will win the World Cup, maybe a repeat of the 1978 World Cup final when Argentina beat Holland 3-1. A South American team (Brazil) beat a European team (Italy) in the third place play-off, so maybe Uruguay will face and beat Spain who should beat Paraguay. Wouldn't wish Larissa Riquelme not to keep her promise of running naked a la Maradona, but painted in Paraguay colours. I do love her mobile phone holder, I'm sure she puts other things in it................................

That Gyan looks a good player to me.  Quick and unbelievably strong with a decent first touch.  He can finish too but is prone to a rush of blood to the head at times.

Might be a one tournament wonder, I've never seen him play club football.  He might be one worth keeping an eye on though.

There is going to be a lot of sourkraut by end of night once Argy Army storm the pitch

I stick by my earlier request, Spain needs to be knocked out pronto. Nando needs a rest before start of the season
