I've never been hurt by the result of an international game and haven't got any real memories of a Houlier side. I can really only remember the Rafa era if I'm honest so those moments come few and far between but the most hurt I've been was gettin knocked out the CL off Chelsea when we got beat 3:2 at Stamford Bridge with Riise scoring THAT own goal in the first leg
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

AS far as i could remember it was when we were beating the scums 1-0 in the f.a cup and lost 2-1. 2 goals in as many mins from the scums. Think it was 1996/1997...

Draw with Leeds at home 1969, it was my first season going to Liverpool, and with that draw the title went to Leeds, lots of the fans stayed and clapped Leeds off the pitch but I just felt gutted. We had played them off the field but just couldn't get a goal(mainly because of their cheating ways)

End of an era as the fantastic Liverpool team of the mid sixties slowly broke up after that season. Record points for second place couldn't compensate for coming so close but not winning the title.

I wouldn't say broken heart as football's a bit of a fickle game at times, but the 1996 FA Cup final against them c*nts was certainly the first time I was brought to tears over a game. I tore the shirt off my back.
