i`d go for the u-boat joe cole instead of downing who looks over hyped to me, cole can score and take men on and if those foreigners want to start the dirty tricks we finally have a player that can dive with the best of them.
in the back four positions we have real strength in depth especially when you add john terry to the list.

almost agree kinda but butt wouldnt get anywhere judgin on his seasons performance, and p neville wouldnt even make my reserves

I would prefer to take Parker over Butt, but I thought that Parker aint playing first team football, and Butt will be when he is fit.

Maybe throw parker in for wright phillips. But ultimately this squad is so deep I'd just throw in whoever is in the best form

People probably disagree with having joe cole but i think he's englands best left winger. Its incredible how he's matured under mourihno and now has a defensive element to his game, even if he is a little divin w*nker

I think the World Cup squad is going to be pretty much the same as usual - Sven will play it safe formation wise. I reckon:

I would play 3 central midfielders if we have to use lampard and gerrard together (both attacking). For DM, i would give Carrick a try. This guy is solid in the midfield, links up passes pretty well, and his long balls aren't that bad either, not to mention his tackles.
