I would never claim to know all the subtleties of the rules, if the ball goes straight in from an indirect free-kick I believe it is a goal-kick. Personally I'd love the answer to be goal because any team playing a free-kick back to the keeper deserves to concede

EDIT : actually you need to review your wording more because the defending side from a free-kick is not the side taking it! That's partly why I'm apprehensive about answering it, because it looks like it may be a trick question. Surely the defending team is defined by being the team defending against the free-kick and not the team taking it.................

Sheesh...fair point mate....

Team A is awarded the free kick in front of their own goal. The free kick is to be taken from a position 5 yards inside the box. A player from Team A passes the ball back to his keeper, who misses it, and it goes into the back of the net. The keeper was - at the time - facing away from the ball, even though the referee had blown his whistle for the match to proceed.

Clear enough ?

Unless of course this is a trick question and the free-kick taker is different to the player passing it back to his keeper.  ???
