Fifa rule regarding contracts

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

I stumbled across the following whilst reading an article on PremierLeague.com:

"Wenger has admitted he cannot guarantee Henry will be at Arsenal next season due to FIFA rule changes enabling players to buy out the final year of their contracts."

Why the sudden change? I think this rule will do more damage than it will help to any of the clubs, it's getting ridicilious.

yeah its taking the pi*ss...the players seem to have more and more power these days...i heard a similar situation with gallas from chelski...he wants wages on a par with the likes of fat frank lampard and terry apparently and if he doesnt get them then he will buy his contract out and get high wages elsewhere....he was linked with us in the summer but its probably just a rumour

good henry is a good player and arsenal are going down hill he may hopefully wanna come to us
When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
