Unbelievable. Police and army have been blamed for failing to control the crowds and football in the country has been indefinitely suspended. At the same time this was happening, fans at a different ground started burning the other stadium down upon learning that the game would be suspended due to the events.

Sad, sad state the country is in. Condolences to the families and loved ones of all of those who lost their lives.

I've got an Egyptian at work, he is going mental about this, he blames the fans, security and government. Some even wish Husni Mubarak is back in power because they think he would have prevented this from happening

uneducated iliterate idiots started the trouble and the security forces just sat there watching.

What's mind boggling that the commander in chief of the security forces in Egypt comes up and says ''well this happens all over the world'' what a complete idiot

i've quite literally never seen anything like it. there was a picture i saw of one fan with his eyes gauged out. made me feel sick

the 'people' have been bottling the police for weeks, months, so the police basically told them to get on with it.

This is really F up... you can see the home fans pouring forward towards the visitor's end of the stadium and the riot police in an 'honor' guard formation behind the goal just stands there without doing anything...

They pelt the police, kill some, try to kill loads, then when the police 'leave them to it' they get angry. Eejits out there, no sympathy from me sorry

I agree with the sentiment entirely, me and you usually see eye to eye on political things. Still sympathy for those affected but kicking off more isnt going to help anything
