Starbridge42 wrote:I don't care what people say RVN is a great striker and would be a valuable asset to any side.  Sure, Owen was Real Madrids first BID, but how do we know he was their first CHOICE?  Maybe they looked at RVN and said to themselves, I don't think he is going to leave Man U, they then look at Owen who says he is leaving if Liverpool don't get a champions league spot and they say, hey presto our new striker!  That doesn't mean Owen was who they'd rather have it just means they weighed up the pros and cons and figured if they got Owen it would be cheaper and easier then RVN and he's almost as good (I rate RVN marginally above Owen, the funny thing is that if they played together you'd have almost the perfect compliment for your attacking partnership).

i dont need to state the facts, i will let the POLL do the talkin for me.
But obviously you (biased) liverpool fans cannot except that Ruud is a better all round player.

No cheesedick and has have rigged the poll.
You are a biased evertonian who talks s##t.
What facts Dom, I have stated the facts, FACT:Ruud has played more games than Owen due to his Injury Proneness and most of his goals consist of poaching or tap ins.

Roberts

PS:You did say Saha was better than Owen.

never...owen and rvn will never make it off together....owen is way better than the cheap,diving,horsefaced,cheat.....even biscan can score a lot of goals if all he has to do is wait inside penalty box and put a leg when the ball is given to him by beckham, giggs, scholes, roy keane,veron...whereas owen was named european footballer of th year playing for the crappy foolier..that achievement alone speaks volumes for that guy

Couldnt give a s? ??? who is the better player all I know is that he whose name I cannot write ( Not owen, just in case your wondering) is a horse looking low down dirty chetaing ****** playing for the scum . As long as Owen is at Liverpool he will always be the better player.
P.S I apologise to any horses and/or horse enthusiasts for the comparison I do understand how offence that must have been for you.
PPS- Martin Keown did what we all secretley want to do!!!!!!!
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Theres no contest.  Van Nistlerooy guarantees United 30 goals a season.  The only thing we expect from Owen is that he'll miss a third of the season with injury and that he'll miss most of his penalties.  A couple of times a season he'll score a cracker and all the commentators will get carried away about him being back to his best.....but unfortunately Owen's best is behind him....at Cardiff in 2001 and St. Etienne in 1998.

I've never seen Van Nistlemoose score from outside the six yard box. But then again I don't waste too much time watching Manc Sh*te .:p
